Switzerland is very close from Lyon, about a one hour drive so sometimes when my family and I have to fly somewhere we go to Geneva because it is easier. 

Geneva and Lausanne are two nice places, my father used to go there quite often some work and when he realized that we had never really been there we stayed in a little town (can't remember the name) located in between Geneva and Lausanne so that we would get to know what the cities look like and see how rural Switzerland is.
